Lexmark Printer Error Code 36 indicates a problem with the pick mechanism of your printer. The pick mechanism is responsible for grabbing and moving the paper through the printer. When this error occurs, it can mean that the pick mechanism is not functioning properly, which can cause paper jams and other printing problems.

Causes :

  • Paper debris or dust buildup in the pick mechanism
  • A faulty pick mechanism assembly
  • A problem with the paper tray or paper sensor

Solution : To resolve Error Code 36, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Open the printer cover and check for any visible debris or dust buildup in the pick mechanism. If you find any, gently clean it out.
  3. Check the paper tray to ensure it's loaded correctly and there's no paper jam.
  4. Check the paper sensor to ensure it's functioning properly and not blocking the pick mechanism.
  5. If the problem persists, you may need to replace the pick mechanism assembly. Contact Lexmark customer support for further assistance.

Conclusion :

If you need further help, you can also try contacting Lexmark customer support for assistance. They can provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps based on your printer model and the details of the error.

Carefully check the left (2) and right (3) hand corners and the center inside the machine and remove any paper scraps that may be jammed. 5. Using your hand, move the print head from left to right, checking carefully for any paper scraps stuck under the print head. Remove any if found.

Diana
